UNCLE BEN'S® CONVERTED® BRAND RICE or UNCLE BEN'S® 20 MINUTE WHOLEGRAIN BROWN RICE 300 mL
1/4 cup
each rice wine vinegar, water and brown sugar 60 mL
3 tbsp
each hoisin sauce and soy sauce 45 mL
2 tsp
cornstarch 10 mL
1 tbsp
canola oil 15 mL
1 1/2 lb
chicken, boneless and skinless, cubed 750 g
1/4 cup
thinly sliced green onion 60 mL
2 tsp
sesame seeds 10 mL
Pinch
red pepper flakes (optional)

Directions

  1. Cook rice according to package directions without butter or salt.
  2. Meanwhile, whisk the rice wine vinegar, water, brown sugar, hoisin sauce, soy sauce and cornstarch.
  3. Heat oil in a large, nonstick skillet set over medium-high heat. Cook chicken for 4 to 6 minutes or until golden brown all over.
  4. Stir in sauce mixture; bring to a boil. Cook for 1 to 2 minutes or until chicken is cooked through and sauce thickens.
  5. Serve over rice. Garnish with green onions, sesame seeds and red pepper flakes, if using.
